Maat van Uitert

Maat grew up on her parent’s horse farm in the idyllic Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts, where her family still keeps hunters and show jumpers. In a childhood filled with love for all animals, Maat took her first riding lesson at age 8. After college, Maat moved to Maryland to pursue a dressage career, and worked with German dressage master Walter Zettl until his health limited his travel to the US. In 2002, Maat also spent time in Vienna, Austria and there had the opportunity to study training at the Spanish Riding School. Maat worked exclusively with Marat from 2008 until 2011.

In 2009, Marat, impressed with Maat's talent as a rider and recognizing her desire for an international dressage career, gave Maat the ride on his Grand Prix horse, Nikita. Maat also trained and competed her mare, Nicolbria, who she bought as a green horse, and trained to Prix St. George. In November 2010, Maat acquired the premium colt Chamonix SSH, who will begin his show career in 2011.  Maat also trains and competes her new Prix St. George horse, Sublime, who has already shown his excellence in international competition.

Maat is considered a sensitive rider that connects with the horse to produce great results. In 2010, Maat even helped another dressage rider achieve her USDF gold medal!

Maat had the opportunity in 2010 to continue her studies with the Spanish Riding School, and worked with Christian Bachinger of the Spanish Riding School to learn advanced in-hand work for piaffe/passage. In 2011, Maat has had the opportunity to take her dressage career to the next level with notable dressage greats, such as Shannon Dueck, Bent Jensen, Heath Ryan, and Catherine Haddad.


Gabriella "Gibby" Booth

Gibby handles the day-to-day care of the horses.  She's an experienced horsewoman, and the horses love her.  Fastidious to a fault, Gibby gives 110% to managing the daily needs of the farm, and her attention to details allows me to be on the road at competitions, and to concentrate on training our FEI horses.
